Blogger Of The Month!

asos-unicorn-sunglasses

We’ve been reading Kirsty’s blog Fashion for lunch for years, which makes her our top choice for our first ever blogger of the month!

We just can’t get enough of her  candy coloured instagram posts, dreamy style guides and Tasty treat recommendations!  Based in Margate, the seaside’s answer to Shoreditch, it’s easy to see where she gets her inspiration from! Mixing in dreamy fairground shots with beautifully styled images of her wardrobe!

Hey Kirsty! Tell us a little bit more about how you started Fashion For Lunch?

Hello! I started it on a total whim! I just signed up to WordPress one evening and the rest is history!

What’s your advice for people wanting to start their own blog?

Just go for it! Have fun! Don’t put pressure on yourself to make it huge and glossy, just have fun and write about what you love!

How would you describe your personal style?

A big ol’ jumble sale of mis-matched items with plenty of colourful accessories.

What’s been your blogging highlight so far?

Ah, there are so many to name, but mainly it’s just amazing when I get emails / tweets / DM’s telling me how much they enjoyed reading my blog or that my instagram feed cheered up their day. That’s pretty nice!

Your house is on fire, which item do you grab?

You know I can’t pick favourites!!!! I have some Chanel items which mean a lot to me as they were gifts from my boyfriend, but I also love my vintage dresses which are the result of years of going to vintage shops and charity shops! I’m a bit of a fashion hoarder.

What do you think will be the top trends for Autumn?

I’m a huge fan of coloured faux fur, it brightens up every day!

ASOS always kill it, they make shopping so easy and they have a great mix of brands.

So you’ve got free rein to raid anyone’s wardrobe, who would it be?

hmmmmmmmm….. Probably Kris Jenner’s or Courtney Love! Courtney Love had the best dresses of the 90’s and Kris Jenner hasn’t thrown anything away since the 80’s.

What’s your key styling tips?

Have fun and wear what you love.

Who’s instagram are you obsessed with?

I love sea of shoes, I have been following her for years and her style is just so beautiful.

Which blogs do you read?

Mostly my friends blogs, it’s a nice way to keep up with everyone! But I am always looking around for new bloggers to follow!

If you could collaborate with anyone who would it be?

Probably Moschino, I’m sure it will never happen but I do adore their collections. I spend a lot of money on Moschino!

Which is your favourite marc b bag?

The pink Kandi tote bag! It’s so cute and it fits in everything

What’s your plans for the future?

Who knows! I guess we will just have to see what happens!

Trending this September on the cobbles, we adore the simple pairing of this oversized clutch bag with chain detailing.

We loved this monochrome look, with it’s chunky oversized statement bag, adding a playful and comfortable edge to the FROW.

Pink was huge this September and so were grab bags!

We love this simple clutch pairing, for ease when travelling from show to show!

Here at marc b. we loved the blend of textured prints with cross body neon laced satchels.Which highlighted this retro inspired print perfectly!

Perfectly styled duffle bags make this look edgy with it’s zip detailing.

After all that walking why not stop by our favourite coffee spot, Farm girl cafe. With their menu offering up tasty treats such as strawberry salads and Rose Lattes. If you’re feeling adventurous why not try their signature coconut bacon BLT, but careful this cafe is doggy friendly so you might end up sharing!

Phiney Pet X marc b.

phineyblog

This season we’ve teamed up with fashions sweetheart Phiney Pet for LFW 2016. Her dreamy aesthetic and quirky design style have seen her work in Asos, Topshop and now with marc b!

We sat down and chatted to the lady herself about all things fashion, music & what we can expect next!

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

I’m Phiney – obsessed by colour, excessive patterns and anything cute!

Who/What inspired your latest collection?
I was inspired mostly by teenagers for this new collection. I read ALOT of y.a literature and watched many a teen movie – as well as just talking to my teenage siblings and there friends. I also dug out a few of my old teenage doodles and diaries. Cringe!
What made you decide to get into the fashion industry?
It kind of happened by accident – I loved illustrating and making clothes and then when I found out that I could combine the two I thought ‘I have to do this!’
Who are your style icons?
I have so many styles I admire so it’s hard to pin down just a few but mostly: Bowie, Drew Barrymore  (circa the 90s) and Solange.
What inspires you?
People! I love people watching and talking to people. That’s why a lot of my collections draw on nostalgic or emotional references – it’s all about making people look all the collection and it reminding them of some time in their life.
Which is your favourite marc b bag?
This is a tough one! Working with them had made me love them all. Maybe the Leanne clutch – I love colour and texture and these are just too cute!
What are you must have handbag essentials?
– Lippy, any colour just something you can shove on to change up your outfit if you need to.
– A hairband – simple but comes in handy for EVERYTHING. The amount of things I have fixed using the rogue hairband in my bag.
– a good book – I spend a lot of time commuting to meetings and a really great read can save you on a long journey!
What’s currently on your playlist?
Currently on my play list (I’m always listening to crazy things during LFW prep).
Klymaxx – Meeting at the ladies room, The Weird Science soundtrack and all of Frank Oceans new music.
Top Tips for customising your bag?
Keep it playful, fun and personal to you. You want it to be something you want to accessorise your outfit with for years to come. Even adding something like a simple fluffy pom can make it more special.
If you could tell yourself one thing when you were younger, what would it be?
Don’t spend so much time worrying what you look like or what people think of you – because in the end none of that really matters. You are your own best creation.
